As you know players with no trade clauses have been traded. I like the idea of the Yankees signing Soto and Burnes if they have room in their budget. My guess is that the Yankees would have to pay of Stanton's contract for them to be able to trade him. Teams have had worse DH’s…
You're right. But if Stanton was traded, that would give the Yankees more payroll and lineup flexibility.

Seems as though Peraza is for real again…

Seems as though Peraza is for real again… Until he’s pulled up to the MLB level.

Virginia Yankee has a point. Good for Flores, but this is what happens when you draft mostly RHP's the past two years.

Spencer Jones finished strong in September, but his K rate is still too high.

Spencer Jones finished strong in September, but his K rate is still too high. agree. not happy about the k rate. on the other hand, judge had about a 25% K rate in the minors. during his late season call-up in 2016, in about 100 AB he averaged 44.1% and for his first 4 seasons in the bigs, averaged 31.6% before now settling in around 25%. so you never know how a player is gonna turn out. if jones can make it up in other areas - HR, getting on base, fielding etc and cut down a little on Ks, he can still be a productive player.

I hope you’re right bumper. He has Florial written all over him, and I’ve cooled on him enough that if they traded him this winter, I’d feel like we made the right move…

again looking at judge - in 2016 after homering in his 1st AB and a hot start, over his last 75 AB, he hit .121 w a staggering 48% K rate. don't remember the reaction on the forum but think most folks were ready to quit on the guy. so sometimes you just have to believe in the potential.

He "looks" like a 1B to me...physically reminds me a bit of Richie Sexson.

There isn't much of a chance that Spencer Jones emerges as the LH version of Aaron Judge. We are all lucky to be around to watch Judge put together seasons that baseball historians will recount way after we go back to being part of the earth. But he doesn't have to be that good to be useful. In Yankee Stadium left hander power is always a plus. For Jones to an asset, he has to show he can produce better numbers next year than the soon to be 35 (11/8 birthday) Giancarlo Stanton.
Stanton contributed to the Yankees in '24 despite a k rate that sits at 30%. This is not a knock on him. His 26 home runs are significant...but he is among the slowest runners in MLB and cannot play the field at all. Jones can play the field. That allows Judge to be rested during his age 33 season next year if Jones can hit major league pitching.
IMO it would be foolish for the Yankees to give up on Jones before he has a full MLB audition.
