Agreed but lets not pretend like Boone actually decides anything like lineups/rosters/positioning... that's all handed down from the front office... it's why you see the same boneheaded decisions that Girardi used to make... Boone is essentially a yes man... I think you're right, the scheduled days off for players is driven from the front office. |

Just a minor note...Florial is 5 for 15 with two doubles and three home runs at AA. The last three years, he has been sidelined by a broken hamate bone, a broken wrist, and then COVID-19. Florial is loaded with talent both defensively and offensively. Would love to see him push Hicks out of the lineup.

It's easy to forget that Scherzer started with Arizona and came to Detroit as part of a three-way trade with the Yankees (who primarily got Curtis Granderson out of it.)
When he signed that seven-year contract going into his age 30 season it seemed like a gamble. It sure paid off.
