I’ve answered the door twice this afternoon and missed both of Judge’s homers. Damned Solar Energy people? ... 😂 Exterminators. Nearly as bad!

How could Frazier or the first base coach not see that ball was going to fall? No fundamental understanding of running the bases. Just as he was admonished for not seeing the ball through the infield before advancing on a grounder in front of him, he didn’t see the fly ball to the ground or in the glove before making a decision. Little league stuff. And, he has a first base coach and a third base coach.

Bob Petit is one of the all-time great forgotten NBA players. I saw him play many times. He was great under the boards and an agile scoring machine. A bit like Kevin McHale in a later day. From the old St. Louis Hawks. He and Elgin Baylor were the two best power forwards of their time. People don’t realize that Petit was 6’9” without shoes and could run. He worked hard on his offense year after year once he made it to the NBA, developing an outside shot and different moves in the post. He is definitely forgotten by today’s basketball pundits who refer to him as a punchline, knowing nothing about him. His contemporaries knew him though, including Wilt Chamberlain and Jerry West. Petit was the first NBA player to score over 20,000 points. Wilt spoke very highly of Petit. He would have been great in any era. So would Baylor or Cousy. Bob was on some outstanding Hawks teams with guys like Clyde Lovellette and Cliff Hagen. Had the Celtics not been so insanely great, the Hawks would have racked up several titles beyond the one they did win. I was always a big Bob Petit fan. I saw him match up in Convention Hall in Philly many times against another great from that era, Paul Arizin of the Philadelphia Warriors. There were only eight NBA teams back then, and it was easy to know all 96 players.
