Let's not forget how good Montgomery was against this powerhouse offense! Montgomery is Pettitte-like when he’s got command of his curve and change. Pettitte was just dynamic with that cutter, especially bearing in on right-handed batters.

Let's not forget how good Montgomery was against this powerhouse offense! If he's not great, they probably lose. It shows how messed up the win stat is for pitchers, Monty pitches 7 shutout innings and a reliever that only throws one inning gets the win.

I'm watching the White Sox postgame show and Ozzie Guillen just said that you should never throw a Latino a first pitch strike with the game on the line. I never that one before but I guess he was right tonight!

That’s just lack of time playing beside each other. Both were calling for it. Miggy just didn’t hear Gardy until it was too late. To me, Miggy had the better angle on his glove side. Shouldn't the LF defer to the CF there? I thought that was the rule on close calls in the OF. It sure as hell was when I was in CF. I did it card if I was on the left field or right field line, that ball was mine... (greedy ball hog)...

Chapman now 3-0 on a vultured win and a triple play! Monty pitches seven shutout innings with 11 strikeouts and remains 2-1 on the season. Ball Suzyn base that’s!

I had a friend in high school who always mixed up the order and would deem someone a hogball. Most everyone knew when to get out of the way. Once I was tracking, if I called it, I’d catch it. I made one grievous error in my last season that I still regret. It’s the only non-throwing error I could recall making since I was about 12 years old. That old red Frank Robinson model glove wasn’t the one I wanted when I got it, but I came to love it...

Katie shows us how great the Yankees pitching has been.

The first glove I had was a hand-me-down Bob Friend model that I found in the attic that belonged to one of my older brothers. It was really small. My first new glove was purchased for me because I needed a glove for softball in junior high PE. I didn’t get another one until college when I took a college algebra final exam for a friend. That’s what I charged him - a new Rawlings glove.

Just in case Rondon needs a little jinx, he’s pitching a no-hitter... Isn’t he one of the guys King Kong fought? I can't remember if Rodan tangled with King Kong, but he was often switching sides with Godzilla, sometimes an enemy and sometimes a staunch ally. He did some of his best work in "Destroy All Monsters" when he laid waste to Moscow and was invaluable in destroying the three-headed fire dragon. He helped establish peace on Monster Island, a move which showed how much he had evolved from his days of baiting Mothra and siding with Gammera the flying turtle. And while all of that was going in, a young Vince McMahon sat spellbound, imagining what it would be like I’d be could own all those monsters and make them do his bidding. Of course at that age wasn’t quite able to think up George “The Animal” Steele nor the Undertaker and Kane coffin matches. That would come after he lost the rest of his marbles..,

The Robinson glove surfaces in our house occasionally. I think it’s in a tote in the garage now. It’s dry, folded sharply. The last few years playing almost strictly softball open the pocket a bit more than one would desire for baseballs. I had to be wary lest they might try to pop back out... I had wanted a blue glove, and preferred a Yankee of course, but gloves were in short supply that year. Many of the models I had ordered for our sporting goods department in the store were on back order. As it turned out, Frank was a great fit...
