Outside of Mark Twain, that generation defined American literature. Hemingway owes a great deal to Sherwood Anderson, who wrote a letter of introduction to the literati and expats (Gertrude Stein) in Paris to welcome him before he had published anything of note. PG Wodehouse in my mind is the funniest writer ever! If you haven’t watched the Jeeves and Wooster BBC series with Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie, I highly recommend it. We're on the same page, Rizz. Mark Twain is the Alpha and Omega of American literature to me. He practically created it, and in my highly dilettante opinion remains unsurpassed. Wodehouse lifts my spirits at any time. I mean to say, what ho? To my shame I haven't seen the BBC series, although my wife and other Wodehouse enthusiasts I know have, and they uniformly concur with your view. In a game this bad, I don't feel so guilty straying from the main topic. For our next assignment, we will explore Post-Impressionist French painting. J/K. It’s interesting you jokingly refer to the Post-Impressionists, because Hemingway held them in high esteem, especially Cezanne, whom Papa wanted to write like he painted. There was a time when I spent many hours in a hammock in my back yard reading Hemingway and thought I understood exactly what he meant. Alas, that revelation has escaped me now.

Wow! I didn’t realize we’re only a .500 team with arguably the best pitcher in the AL. Yep. No run support. I hope Cole and deGrom match up at some point. It will be interesting to see if any runs are scored. It's annoying cause they seem to actually have decent enough pitching to take on these teams most of the time but the offense of course goes to sleep.

Andujar not looking bad in left field. Solid play, indeed!

Only six more games left with these guys. You have to give them credit for what they can do with an 80-something million payroll.

True enough, but they seem to have the Yankees number, and we’re running out of head to head games with them.

But they do seem to consistently punch above their weight with what seems like interchangeable parts.

True but fwiw the Yankees would have been 6-7 against them if they win this one, but looking like that isn't happening so 5-8 it is looks like. Still can win the season series or get close which is quite the improvement from last year when they were 2-8.

The umpiring today has been pretty bad as well. Also DJ really needs to get going.

I dunno. Looked like an error on Odor, but that's probably because this game has soured my mood.

Ugh King again tomorrow most likely. I know Kluber is injured but throwing out these guys doesn't help winning chances either.

Letting Yarborough last this long is annoying too.
