Yep, Boone didn’t react at all. Maybe he didn’t see the pitch, or maybe he was perusing a catalogue for new watch bands. You stick to what you know.

Its hard for me to say because I love Boone for giving me my favorite sports memory and I respect how he adopted the Haitian children into his family, but as a manager for the Yankees, I'm getting real tired of him at this point.

I'm just tired of the " you just wait till everyone starts hitting" line

I found this transcript of a conversation that took place after last night's game. Very revealing.
Boone: Hey G, I want to apologize for sending you up to pinch hit. I know it was your day off, but I was in a bind. Are you feeling okay? Are you tired?
Stanton: Yeah Skip, going up there to strike out has made me feel all out of sorts. I'm bushed. Mind if I sit out the Minnesota series?
Boone: No, not at all G. Take the week off. Gardy and Wade need more reps anyway. Got to get them going.
Stanton: Appreciate it Skip. Hicksie invited me to stay at his place. You know he kept his home in Minnesota. More convenient for getting to the Mayo Clinic.
Boone: Aw, that's great. You know my main goal is to make sure you guys are happy and well-rested. Baseball is just a game, but rest is something you only have a limited opportunity to enjoy.
Stanton: I knew you'd understand, Skip. Ellsbury will be joining us at Hicksie's place. He has his own guesthouse there, and Hicksie said he's been great in helping him to adjust to getting comfortable with the idea of feeling good about collecting a paycheck without playing.
Boone: That is just great, G. I love how you guys have each other's backs. Remember to call me when you're getting ready to go to bed so I can fluff up your pillows just so and maybe bring you some Advil. And I'll check in with you Saturday to see if you feel rested enough to play.
Stanton: Thanks Skip. Love you.
Boone: Love you back G.

I’m afraid we may soon see the Haitian children in the lineup…

If they can't win a series against the last place Minnesota punching bags...

Well sounds like Voit and Severino will be back sooner than later, but I still don't think that's enough to save this team they still need a solid left handed bat.

We somehow live in a world right now where the nets are the most likely ny team to win a title this year.
