Glad you like it here, Billy! No fan is a better fan than the other. Some see the glass half full, some half empty. One thing for sure is that this year the glass is not full at this point… There's one fan who sees the glass as bone-dry. Not mentioning any names.😎 Bone dry with a curled up dead spider in the bottom and a splintered crack at the rim… Recalling the old Pinstripes board where there were about six neggies who only emerged when a loss was almost certain or as soon as the game was over and lost. One had an Eric Cartman avatar… and was just as whiny…

This year's version of the Yankees has inspired a torrent of hot takes, and not just here. Pretty much everyone on this forum has some sense of perspective, but we all -- I certainly include myself-- have been driven to distraction by this team.
I understand recency bias, but this just feels different from laments in the past. Like the team just wasn't put together correctly and management is frozen in trying to cope with it.
It's weird. It really does feel a bit like 1965, which is the saddest of prospects for those old enough to remember.

It was an embarrassment for me to see my unbeatable heroes turn into zeros. I didn’t understand at that point that baseball players got old at suddenly… or that pitchers arms hurt. Disgruntled players? On the Yankees? Or that prospects failed, and did not become the next Mickey Mantle. Lots of baseball lessons that year…

Management saw how close they got the last couple years and felt if Houston didn't cheat they would be in the World Series. So they figured with a couple minor changes they make the playoffs easy and have a good shot at the World Series. Problem is they probably needed to sign at least one above average free agent that wasn't already a Yankee last year but they didn't and here we are.

Should have let DJ walk. Good player, but the money was insane for a good, but aging player…

Well, I have enough Yankee die-hardness left to hope that all of you better fans are right. Man, how I hope you are right. This is a good board, one I found by accident, or I should say through a search engine. I'll check back in later. Ciao. Kaybli will be happy that the site name changed worked.

I mean, we all loved HeAmyHa, but it didn't necessarily strike the unwary as a Yankee site.

HeAmyHa was a good inside joke and was fine for what I thought would be a temporary board while the old board got fixed (spoiler: it never did). But I love the new name for a permanent board for sure. And I don't get the same puzzling looks from people when I say the name of the board. Poor Meredith even had trouble with it.

And here's Meredith again for anyone who didn't see it:

Wow, I had never seen the one with Cashman. He seemed affable. Now I feel a little guilty for criticizing the job he's done with this team. It's so much easier to blast people in a vacuum.
