Three triple plays is the most in a season since 1901. It has now happened 8 times, most recently before this by the 2016 White Sox. The Yankees have over half a season to set the record.

Today we saw the tenth game-ending triple play in recorded history. The first one recorded was in 1953, so I’m assuming official records have not been searched prior to 1950, which is often true of Baseball Reference record keeping and searches…
