Okay, let me get this furshlugginer story out of the way. At this game, somewhere around the fifth inning I was getting bored and walked over to the souvenir stand to get a few chintzy mementos. I bought a Blue Rocks cap and the aforementioned T-shirt, and they placed it in your generic "Thank You For Your Business" plastic bag with a handle on it. I wandered around the stadium and down the right field line there was one of those machines that measures pitch velocity. I leaned on the rail watching kids throw. All of a sudden, a couple of kids ran up toward me yelling for me to look in my bag. I looked in and there was a baseball in there. Somebody had hit a foul ball and it had gone through an opening no bigger than the ball itself where I was clutching the handle and landed on the shirt. It never ruffled the bag and I never felt a thing. The kids had seen it go in. I went back to my brother and cousin to tell them what happened. Naturally they didn't believe me. Then one of the kids who had seen the whole thing came up with some of his friends pointing at me and saying that's the guy right there, like I was some kind of magician. They all wanted to see the ball, as if it were anything other than an ordinary Carolina League baseball. Of course my brother and cousin accused me of paying the kid to say that. I've been to maybe a thousand major and minor league games in my life, give or take a hundred or so, and that is the only foul ball I ever got. And I never even saw it happen. I’ll take it. It is amazing. Sometimes the fates want what they want…

That was worth the wait, Pipps! Heard myself laughing out loud. I have never caught a ball at a baseball game.

A walk by Gleyber turns into a double play. 10 walks, 2 runs. Beautiful baseball. Just beautiful.

I told the story here years ago, but once saw some paper flying through the air in about a 40 mph wind and thought “That looks like money” it was high over my head and suddenly swooped down at my feet. I stomped on it and it was a $50 bill. Suddenly mine…
