Another great outing by Chad Green. 2.1 innings. Half a start right in the middle of the game…His arm needs to be reattached before his next appearance, but he doesn’t mind…

I hadn’t really noticed Staumont’s cute little bun until he was departing… Hmmmmm.

You have a man bun, Kaybli?… Nope. Just a regular haircut. That's too hipster for me.

9 walks, 2 runs. Change that Luke with the bases loaded! Some teams don't even get 9 walks in a week.

How disappointing. Luke was overly aggressive that at bat, and it did cost him…

How does Marcus Thames have s job? They all act like they've never seen a breaking pitch before. But at least they swing hard.

Okay, let me get this furshlugginer story out of the way. At this game, somewhere around the fifth inning I was getting bored and walked over to the souvenir stand to get a few chintzy mementos. I bought a Blue Rocks cap and the aforementioned T-shirt, and they placed it in your generic "Thank You For Your Business" plastic bag with a handle on it.
I wandered around the stadium and down the right field line there was one of those machines that measures pitch velocity. I leaned on the rail watching kids throw.
All of a sudden, a couple of kids ran up toward me yelling for me to look in my bag. I looked in and there was a baseball in there. Somebody had hit a foul ball and it had gone through an opening no bigger than the ball itself where I was clutching the handle and landed on the shirt. It never ruffled the bag and I never felt a thing. The kids had seen it go in.
I went back to my brother and cousin to tell them what happened. Naturally they didn't believe me. Then one of the kids who had seen the whole thing came up with some of his friends pointing at me and saying that's the guy right there, like I was some kind of magician. They all wanted to see the ball, as if it were anything other than an ordinary Carolina League baseball.
Of course my brother and cousin accused me of paying the kid to say that.
I've been to maybe a thousand major and minor league games in my life, give or take a hundred or so, and that is the only foul ball I ever got. And I never even saw it happen.

Credit where it’s due. Torres has played well at SS for the past 20 games or so. Of course, he’s left his bat home lately…

Like Randy Johnson hitting that bird.
