A must win to take the series. We need Monty to be clicking on all cylinders tonight. The bats came up small with RISP after the third inning yesterday, and defense and base running continue to derail wins into losses. A couple positives: Andujar had three of the nine hits, Voit and Urshela had four more between them. Judge has to appear in these games to have any chance to take the division.

We need a win just to stop this losing streak against Boston.

Here’s Boston’s lineup:
1. Michael Chavis (R) 2B 2. Alex Verdugo (L) LF 3. J.D. Martinez (R) DH 4. Xander Bogaerts (R) SS 5. Rafael Devers (L) 3B 6. Hunter Renfroe (R) RF 7. Enrique Hernandez (R) CF 8. Bobby Dalbec (R) 1B 9. Connor Wong (R) C
I wonder if Boone is having a tough time deciding whether Torres should sit in this game? Just do not give a day off to Andujar or Voit.
Gleyber’s last 44 plate appearances are the epitome of a slump: .051/.159/.077/.236

Really hoping Monty is on today. With Cole pitching tomorrow, this is a key game to try to take the series. Can't keep losing to these fools.

It would be nice to score first for a change, give the starter some room to breathe. Winning this game would give Cole some extra motivation to win the series and tighten up the AL East race. Big time athletes need those little pushes to raise the level of their game.

Our good friend Elvodia wasn't that great his last start against the Royals but was good the start before that against the Blue Jays. Let's hope we see the bad Elvodia today. My kingdom for a mediocre Elvodia!

There is one stat that jumps off the page for Eovaldi this season, which is his meager 3 HR allowed. We need something to go over the fence with runners on today. Maybe two of them…

The Yankees are a combined 5-12 against Boston and Tampa Bay. They can't lose that much ground to the two teams ahead of them and expect to make it up against everyone else.

I just peeled EOVALDI’s numbers and saw a second number that leapt off the page. His 2.57 FIP is the best in the AL. No doubt the lack of HR against is a major contributor to that, as his WHIP is nothing special…

So frustrating to see the losses pile up against the two teams ahead of them. Even going 8-9 would have put us in so much better shape.

The dearth of the depths of death to a contender… simple solution? We go 12-5 in the next set of 17. It’s been done before. It can be done again. The question is, will we…

Why are Boone's lineups always so late?
