I would agree with kaybli that an outfielder(preferably a left handed batting one) should be a priority. I see Gallo mentioned often on ESPN and other's as a likely trade target of several teams but his career batting average of .211 and 42% strikeout rate would rule him out for me. We have those already. I like the speed Florial and Allen bring to the team and would like to see them continue to start. Current performance may not be an indication of what will happen in the future but right now they are performing better than what else we have in the outfield(excepting Judge). When I see that Story "might" be injured that immediately scares me off. Maybe I am being too picky though. I don't share the optimism of some others and believe we should be thinking more about the future than right now.

Tell me why Yankees shouldn't go get Kris Bryant? Yes he's paid $19.5 million this year so Hal will say no at the remaining money for August/September, but the prospect cost shouldn't be too high since he's a rental. He's exactly what this team needs, he's also a star who can play 4-5 positions. Oh and it wouldn't hurt to try and woo him for a few months and try to sign him this winter. We are so gonna regret trying to penny-pinch in the midst of Gerrit Cole's prime aren't we? ***************** I don't know how to describe my loathing of the way this franchise has been mis-managed into what we see today. Kris Bryant? Sure. It won't happen of course. I can't even get excited about any potential trade. This roster needs a major remake, not a tweak. Sure, there is still hope for a WC berth. Big friggn deal. I am starting to hate the Steins, and their refusal to change what is obviously not working as far as a strategy to compete at the highest level. I'm not smart enough to know what to do, but I would damn sure put proven baseball men in charge up and down the staff, and then give them carte blanche to blow it up and rebuild if that was the new brains evaluation of things. |

So he will go the rest of the division and screw the Yankees over then nice He’s 36. As amazing as he’s been, the clock is ticking. The clock always ticks. Maybe he’s the next Nolan Ryan. Maybe that slight uptick we’ve seen in his FIP and HR allowed rates are the harbinger of nearing the end. He’d be a great piece for this year, maybe next. I tend to think of him at this point a bit more like when we got Randy Johnson… |

In a surprise transaction, the Yankees announced they’ve traded relievers Luis Cessa and Justin Wilson to the Reds in exchange for a player to be named later. Cincinnati designated Ashton Goudeau and Edgar García for assignment to open 40-man roster space.
