Oooooooo so exciting! I wonder what moves are coming next? I hope Cashman doesn't mess this up. I kinda liked Cessa.

Cashman clearing up salary space and 40 man roster spots, although he had to deal away Cessa, who is a better pitcher than the reliver he just brought in from Pittsburgh. At least Wilson is gone, remember when he and Cessa were once traded for each other?

Hopefully this leads to a few moves and not just one, we need an infusion of fresh faces.

Confounding indeed, amazing the Dodgers just shrug their shoulders at the luxury tax. They're maxing out their window to win, while Yankees half-ass theirs.

Mariners players reportedly livid with GM Jerry Dipoto after Kendall Graveman trade: 'They don’t care about winning'
The Seattle Mariners made one of the more surprising moves of the MLB trade deadline on Tuesday, sending bullpen ace Kendall Graveman to the Houston Astros.
Graveman was exchanged for young corner infielder Abraham Toro (career slash line: .193/.276/.350 in 93 games) and 37-year-old reliever Joe Smith (current ERA: 7:48). Also going to the Astros was reliever Rafael Montero, whom the Mariners had recently designated for assignment.
A number of Mariners players anonymously blasted general manager Jerry Dipoto to Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times, excoriating the executive for seemingly deciding to sell when the team is one game back from a playoff spot and sending away a clubhouse leader with little communication.
Here's how mad Mariners players are at Jerry Dipoto:
Players reportedly described a clubhouse with palpable anger and smashed equipment after the trade. "Betrayed" was reportedly the word of the day.
Here's a sampling of the quotes:
“Are you (expletive) kidding me?” said the same player. “It never changes. They don’t care about winning. How do you trade him and say you care about winning? And you trade him to Houston? It never changes.”
“He hasn’t come down here,” a player said of Dipoto. “He sits up in his suite, playing fantasy baseball and rips apart our team without telling us anything.”
Another player via text said that “no one has heard a thing,” and later texted: “I’ve seen a lot of teammates walk out that door. But this one hurts the most and is the most (expletive) up. The team deserves an explanation.”
The only player named in the article was starting pitcher Marco Gonzalez, who was reportedly distraught to the point of tears upon learning about the trade.

Remember a couple games ago when Cessa threw five pitches for three outs, then we lost the game because Boone just had to change pitchers for the ninth? These trades smell of desperation - meaningless activity rather than achievement. Getting rid of Wilson is another way of saying Cashman made a mistake in signing him as a free agent. The trade with Pittsburgh doesn’t help this team. None of these moves have improved this team.

The trade with Pittsburgh doesn’t help this team. None of these moves have improved this team. I felt as though Cessa was being underused, and worse yet not trusted. Good for him to go somewhere that he might be able to thrive. As far as the current trade helping us… the PTBNL is still a mystery, right? But even then, it can’t be a big name. We didn’t send Pittsburgh a lot…

Wonder why the Yankees didn't get Marte if the contract is free.

Per Cot’s, Cessa is due $383,871 the rest of the season, which will reduce the Yankees’ luxury tax payroll accordingly. Wilson’s AAV is $2.575 million, though he’s due $1,041,936 of his $2.85 million salary the rest of this year according to Cot’s. If you take the same ratio of remaining salary to actual salary applied to his AAV, the Yankees will save something like $940,000 in luxury tax payroll here. So between the two dealt: something around $1.3 million in luxury tax payroll savings this season. viewsfrom314ft.com/yankees-trade-luis-cessa-and-justin-wilson-to-the-reds/-- Small market Hal at it again.

In the past, Cash pulled off a trade or two no one saw coming, but now that Hal has designated the Yanks as a small market team, his options are limited.
