Wonder why the Yankees didn't get Marte if the contract is free. Marte was traded for a guy with a 6.87 ERA and Miami pays the full contract. Perhaps someone smarter than I can explain this? |

I'm not smarter than you  but Jesus Luzardo was a highly ranked prospect in 2020. As high as #4 in ESPNs top 100. I guess Miami feels he still he a lot of potential. |

I'm not smarter than you but Jesus Luzardo was a highly ranked prospect in 2020. As high as #4 in ESPNs top 100. I guess Miami feels he still he a lot of potential. Yanks definitely are prospect huggers… They wait until the prospect poops out and then still expect high valuations. Volpe was a high ask for Marte, especially since Marte is not a perfect fit due to his right handed bat. I’ve long admired Marte, though…but we need some LH pop in this lineup… |

I thought Marte was a good fit even if he is right handed. They need a CF now, he won't be around long term anyways.
Yanks should just clear up the 40 man roster for next year. No team is going to make a major trade with them, they don't value the Yanks farm system other than 2-3 prospects that are off limits.
