No point leaving Cole in this mess to take more abuse. Get him out for his own good.

I've been doing house chores this morning/afternoon and the only part of this game I saw was in the first inning when a Boston runner tug up from 2nd on a fly ball to Andujar and easily made it third and the throw was so bad that a runner on first went to second. That's really all I needed to see and thankfully I missed the Devers HR that came shortly afterwards. Chores are more fun than this game.

I was thinking the same thing. I hope that the sticky wasn't the only reason he was an ace. Very troubling. Cole gave up a ton of home runs his first season with the Yankees. I’m not saying he’s unaffected by the rules changes, but this is also a combination of poor location, poor pitch selection on Devers, and another umpire calling balls for strikes. It also doesn’t help that the Yankees can’t buy a run. No margin for error. Lastly, Boston has a few guys having career years in Boegaerts, Devers, et al. They aren’t missing fat pitches.

There is a difference between the Red Sox and the Yankees. Bases loaded one out, the Yankees hit a shot on the ground to third for a DP. Boston gets it in the air for a sac fly. We hit .218/.325/.307 with RISP. Only the Pirates are worse. Whenever you're in the same bracket with the Pirates, there is a problem.

Meanwhile the Yankees offense is getting shut down by a pitcher that had a 6+ ERA entering today's action.

I don't understand replay anymore, why do they even have it when it isn't used correctly?

No lack of stick stuff turns you into a pumpkin this much. His command has been totally off. And he can't throw the slider anywhere near to where he wants it.

I don't understand replay anymore, why do they even have it when it isn't used correctly? Didnt they just overturn one for BOS on same play yesterday or Friday on a bang bang play at 1B?

I don’t know if there is an official rule, but as kids we always said tgat the tie went to the runner. I do think Gleyber was there a mili-second before the ball was caught. I have no beef with the guys in NY not overturning that, but the bad call was blatant to me. Oh well, one more out. Get it over with sooner… I need to do yard work after a couple of rainy days. It’s early yet, but I’m tempted just to go out for a while and check in in another hour or so…

Look how the Red Sox base runners get down the line compared to the Yankees. The difference is like night and day.
