Ohtani's ERA went from 2.58 to 3.60 after that outing. 3.15 to 3.60 after the reliever gave up D.J.'s three run double.

Trea Turner today became the fifth player in history to hit for the cycle three times. The others were 19th century player John Reilly, 1920s Yankee standout Bob Meusel, Daffiness Boys Dodger Babe Herman, and Adrian Beltre.

Why is there all this elevated hype for Ohtani this year? This is his 4th year playing and it isn't his first trip to Yankee Stadium either? The media acts like he just debuted. Probably because he was injured a lot in the past, plus he's having a monster season. He really has duel WAR's, one for hitting and one for pitching. The bat is for real but I'm not sold on him being a elite pitcher for a full season after season just yet. |
