Watching cubs game, its amazing how intimate Wrigley is. No frills, just a ballpark, its community and a ballgame in front of em. Beautiful stuff. Then I think of what a shit stadium Randy and Lonn put together in YS3, how corporate, overpriced (im sure wrigley gouges as well), and unnatural the environment is. I can only imagine how special original yankee stadium was, pre 70s renovation. Anyone care to share if they were lucky enough to attend? Yeah, everything is expensive at Wrigley, but then again, it's Chicago, food & beverages are expensive at all sporting events, plays, concerts, etc... I'm too young to ever have gone to the original YS, but I liked the remodeled one. It was huge and a little dumpy, but it just had that feeling that you were at somewhere special, a place loaded with history. |
