Opportunity missed.

Probably in the minority, but I like that the Yankees are different in having a no facial hair policy. I don’t get the beard obsession, especially in July. That has to be uncomfortable. It would be for me. I saw a Phillies’ pitcher the other day with what looked like a bird’s nest on his chin.

Not a great start for Monty or the Yankee hitters.

This is Archie Bradley. The bird’s nest actually looks groomed from what I saw a couple days ago. It is especially unsavory from profile.

I might not be if the hair and beard fashions weren't so unkempt, but to my obsolete way of looking at it it gives them a more professional appearance. The Woodstock look has not aged as well as the stodgy 50s look IMO. Fact is most people look better when they dress well and give at least minimal care to grooming.

Flaherty just made the comment that the Yankees are getting to the point where running out the best lineup every day might be preferable to resting players. Preacher-choir around here, but I wonder who he was wanting to see today?

I remember my aunt and grandmother and even my dad getting “dressed” just to go to the grocery store in a town of fewer than 2000 people. What you see across this nation in Walmart to Waffle House is a slovenly horde of the literally unwashed.

I didn't get to see the first two games on account of I was in bed, but seeing this park reminds me of what an awful place the Kingdome was. Ick.

Preacher-choir around here, but I wonder who he was wanting to see today? Maybe he just meant as a general principle rather than today specifically? I thought that possible as well and it was right before the third out of the inning. He just left it hanging and didn’t return to the thought, which is not uncommon for the seemingly humorously-challenged Flaherty.

Yankees seemingly are already on the plane out of Seattle. Sleepwalking thus far.
