How to blow a baseball game 101 featuring Aaron Boone.

There has been no discipline or fundamentals with this team all year. I have yet to see someone go to Thames and get advice. Just a bunch of Zombies with zero emotion. Boone is not the guy.

So as Maize has been saying Wilson, Britton, and Chapman take up like 40 million on this team combined and none of the can appear in this game?

To be fair while they could have scored more runs they were up in the bottom 9th and bottom 10th. Thames doesn't control the pitching.

Michael Kay lamenting about the thin bullpen, but not a word about pulling the starter pitching a shutout after one ground ball single through the shift (i.e., no one playing defense on the right side of second except the first baseman) with two outs in the sixth and only 83 pitches thrown. This loss is absolutely on Boone.

This, from Wiki:
Since 1900, the highest total in a season has been 30 (by Red Ames in 1905). The modern record for wild pitches in a single game is 6, held by three different pitchers. R.A. Dickey, Phil Niekro, Walter Johnson, and Kevin Gregg jointly hold the modern-era regular season single inning wild pitch record, with four.
* and from me: We saw a futility record tied tonight, folks…

This is how Boston used to lose to the NYY constantly in 1900s, what a difference a new century makes.

Ok, but the last month I think they are near the top of the league in runs so I think they turned that problem around a bit.
