10:22 pm: The deal isn’t expected to be finalized until tomorrow, reports Passan. As Curry first reported, the expectation is now that the Yankees will acquire Gallo and Rodríguez for a four-player prospect package (Duran, Smith, Hauver and Otto). King is now expected to remain in Texas. Rodríguez has tossed 27 1/3 innings of 5.93 ERA ball this season, a disappointing follow-up to a brief but productive 2020 campaign. His peripherals, though, are far better. The southpaw has a 3.40 SIERA, with average strikeout and walk numbers but a huge 63.9% grounder rate. Rodríguez is making $2.5MM this season (about $900K of which is still owed), and has a $3MM club option for the 2022 campaign. If the Yankees are on the hook for the remainder of Rodríguez’s salary, that’d push them a touch closer to the luxury tax threshold. www.mlbtraderumors.com/

Rodriquez's ERA is just under 6. We can flip him, or farm him. Or let Boonie play with him and bring him into some close games…

Where does Voit play out in this lineup now? I think he may be trade bait if we can get a shortstop…

Where does Voit play out in this lineup now? I think he may be trade bait if we can get a shortstop… I kind of a feeling Voit isn't going to be 100% the rest of the season so maybe that's why they are pushing for Stanton to play the field so much so Voit can get the majority of the DH at bats the rest of the season? Gallo plays all OF positions and 1B and 3B correct? So if Stanton plays some OF Voit can DH those days. I saw this on twitter this is prob the layout if they don't get a SS and Stanton can play the field I just labeled these in order of the field to make it easier to see the positions this wouldn't be the batting order. DJ LeMahieu - 1B Rougned Odor - 2B Gio Urshela - 3B Gleyber Torres - SS Giancarlo Stanton - LF Joey Gallo - CF Aaron Judge - RF Gary Sanchez - C Luke Voit - DH The biggest question I think is does Torres lose ABS to Odor if they do get a SS? Assuming one of or both of Andujar and Frazier are gone in this scenario.

Could probably get someone better in the bullpen.

In fact he hasn't played any CF since 2019 aside from one inning, though I think he can handle the position
I don't think they will given Stanton anything but a few games in LF. Be prepared for Gardner to keep getting games in CF though I'd prefer Gallo, Allen or Florial there.

Maybe we can wait for the free agent class after the year is over. If we are to make another move, I'd rather get another starting pitcher. You can never have too many of those. I hate to say it but odds are not good that Taillon/Montgomery/German all stay healthy with their histories. And you can't count on Severino and Kluber.

Agree on a starting pitcher being more important. If they don't get a ss then yes there is room for both Voit and Stanton.

Usually someone gets injured anyway.

Gallo has played in 92 games at 1B and 95 at 3B, but that’s a bit deceptive. In 2017 he was a 1B/3B with a few games in the OF (18). In 2018 he played 30-something at 1B but no 3B. Since 2019, he’s been strictly an OF…

Suddenly, Odor has been hitting. Plus he’s trying to bunt his way on, and seems to not be strictly try to hit HR anymore.
