We don't I'm just going through all scenarios. Agree on a starting pitcher being more important. If they don't get a ss then yes there is room for both Voit and Stanton. But is there room for Odor, Voit, and Stanton? Too many players is a good problem to have though.
Usually someone gets injured anyway.
I smell another trade or two coming… we have a couple more days…

Suddenly, Odor has been hitting. Plus he’s trying to bunt his way on, and seems to not be strictly try to hit HR anymore. My guess is unless voit is super healthy they prob just switch off him and Stanton for DH and put Stanton in LF here and there if they want both in. Odor i guess it would be DJ 1st and Odor second in games that voit isn't playing first.

One thing that surprised me looking at Gallo's stats is that as a lefty he's not a dud against lefty pitching.
In fact, he has a higher career OPS against lefties in his career. In 2021, his OPS against lefties is .031 points higher.
Career against RHP: .206/.341/.490
Career against LHP: .222/.325/.513
2021 against RHP: .209/.381/.476
2021 against LHP: .244/.375/.513

They really can't count on Voit playing a good chunk of the rest of the season with all the IL stints.

Too bad Hicks has 4 more years before a club option in 2026...that would take money off the books if they could unload that. Not sure what they do with Andujar and Frazier either.

Got to send both Andjuar and Frazier back to Triple AAA and make them earn back some value. That is if Frazier's career isn't in jeopardy at this point. I would eat half of Hicks' contract and see if there are any takers. He might be worth it to teams for only 5 million a year.

Can't wait to add Gallo's .220 average and 40% strike out rate to this line-up. Terrible. I was going to post something similar. I will say the Yankees can turn seemingly terrible hitters around as it has happened many times before. But the way the team is playing, the discontent of the fans, this trade is just odd. Why did we trade for a career .211 hitter, making a whole lot of money, and bring him to a team that has difficulty scoring runs?

I was not in favor of trading for Gallo when it was first mentioned as a possibility several weeks ago. I like watching speedy guys running the bases(perhaps Gallo can, I don't know). Maybe Allen is a flash in the pan and I bet Florial will be sent down but they are the "type" of players I was hoping the Yankees would add. For certain though Gallo will bring a much needed left handed bat with great defense and we need that. I just have a hard time when I look at the strike out rate and the near Mendoza line lifetime batting average. We did seem to keep our top prospects and I doubt we are finished. Maybe Voit is next to go.

July 29, 7:20am: The Rangers are paying all of Gallo’s remaining contract, tweets Jim Bowden of The Athletic. MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand tweets that Texas will pay “most” of the deal. Either way, the Rangers’ inclusion of cash and the Yankees’ recent trade of Justin Wilson suggests they’re still angling to remain under the luxury tax. Getting financial help from Texas will free them to continue pursuing other additions.

He is just not the type of player I wanted to see the Yankee's add. He does bring a left handed bat and strong defense which I mentioned and I am glad the Ranger's are paying his salary. Just my opinion on Gallo. I'll cheer for him just like I have cheered for every Yankee player since 1960.
