Gill rebounds and finishes off Hayes to cap his night. What a shot in the arm for the Yanks. Even more credit to Boone. He resisted his usual urge to make a pitching change after 4.2 regardless of game situation, then let the kid pitch with a runner on in the sixth. Is our little manager beginning to mature before our very eyes ?… I'm glad he let him go six, but it might have a lot to do with Boone not knowing the names of half of those guys in the bullpen.

They have to keep starting Allen over Gardner. Even Boone must see it by now. Don’t sell Boone long just yet. Gardy had three walks and a hit last night. Gardner is either sitting today because of the lefty starter or Boone thought he needed rest after being on base four times.
