Late to the party tonight. Well, on Extra Innings I get the same commercials relentlessly-- the father/son erectile dysfunction doctors; Boll and Branch, saving the planet with over-priced organic cotton towels; Nerd Wallet so you can have a higher credit limit than your sister. I'd much rather watch old Tony the Tiger ads for Sugar Frosted Flakes or Andy Granatelli for STP the racer's edge or Joey Heatherton hawking the Serta Perfect Sleeper mattress. Too ancient for most of you. I even remember cigarette commercials. They were everywhere. I vividly renember those Joey Heatherton commercials. Dream about them on a good night. Susan Anton did some too. She went on for miles and miles.

At least the cigarette commercials are gone.
Cigarette ads weren't even entertaining. Although the really old ones that showed a doctor smoking Camels to soothe his nerves were pretty funny.

I’m still dubious regarding these defensive statistics. They may be rather indicative of defensive prowess, but definitive? I’m just not certain. Tauchman always shows well according to them, though. I see it this way. The numbers are 100% accurate, but the meaning is dependent upon many other things. Get all the numbers together and you have a decent idea of the player’s performance. You better be watching too, though. I believe players on teams with high K percentage pitchers get screwed a bit because there are fewer total changes. I also believe that a staff that leans toward ground ball pitchers or flyball pitchers can have a positive or negative effect on the stats of the fielders behind them. So you must reserve some thought unless you consider all the other elements involved. The numbers cannot be 100% accurate when we all know Gleyber should have approximately double the number of errors that he currently has. Errors are much easier for me to assign than good or great jumps, or fair versus good angles on slicing line drives, or zone ratings on slow to medium to fast infields on varying exit velocities and spin off the bat.

How many of you had Shrimp and Grits for supper? That really does look delicious. Shrimp and grits has come a long way in the past generation.

Oops walking someone that's not allowed and There is the hook at 90 pitches. The highlight of Boone's day is taking out a starting pitcher who is doing well. Extra credit if you don't give him a shot at a W.

Filet Mignon medallions, garlic shells, baked beans. I’m stuffed… That sounds like a good meal! Ruthie cooked it for you? Yes. Used the air fryer for the medallions. She always asks me for the time and temp, which I calculate by the size and thickness of the steak. She has a tendency to want to combine high temp and short cook times, which is a sure way to dry meat out… These were at 370 for 22 minutes. Just right. Well done, but still juicy…

I’ll take your word for it, and I’ll try just about anything once - especially if I’m hungry - but that is one very WELL-done steak. To each his own, amigo. We all wear our own sombrero, I think Voltaire said.
