Kluber threw 45 pitches in the outing; his first since the shoulder injury that has kept him out since the end of May. According to Andy Martino of SNY, the right-hander was touching 90 with his fastball, and it's worth pointing out that Kluber is not one of the harder throwers in baseball right now, anyway. The former Cy Young winner will need to rebuild his arm strength, and the next step in his progression will be determined by how he feels going forward. He's expected back at some point in September. |
