Multi-tasking here, but strong first for Monty. Interesting fact from Cone -- Monty is the only pitcher in the majors with a swing and miss rate of over 20 percent on two different pitches --his curve and his changeup. I’m starting to get more connected with Ben McDonald… Hah. Goober Pyle. You really get cheated on Yankee broadcasts.

I’m starting to get more connected with Ben McDonald… Hah. Goober Pyle. You really get cheated on Yankee broadcasts. Lol at Goober. The one thing he does is spout (accurate) stats, etc.. I hate listening to a game banter like “Didn’t he hit .300 one season”? If you’re broadcasting games, you should be an authority that can say “He hit .312 back in 2015, but hasn’t been able to duplicate that since, hovering in the .260-.280 area”. With the info available today it not excusable to work in the profession and know nothing. At least carry a “Who’s Who in Baseball” with you… if you don’t have internet access during games. I also imagine you could hook up a laptop in the booth…

Too many time outs granted by the umpires. Especially allowing them too late in the pitcher’s process. I assume mostly hitters…

Finding a way to win games even if their own management makes it hard on them.

Yanks broadcasters talking about the passing of NY Ranger legendary winger Rod Gilbert. I had missed that one.
Don't know how many old school pucksters are around here, but he was one speedy slapshooter. On the line with Jean Ratelle and Vic Hadfield on some tough Rangers teams that couldn't quite get past the Bruins, Canadiens or Flyers.
Brad Park, Rod Seiling, Jim Nielson, Eddie Giacomin, Gilles Villemure, Walter Tkaczuk, Bill Fairbairn, Dale Rolfe -- hockey was great in those days. I have increasing trouble finding people who remember those days. Usually elderly Torontonians wintering in Florida.

He's gone from terrible to horrendous. Now down around .130 with the Yanks.

As usual, Yank bats are silent when Monty pitches. It's definitely a pattern. I don't get it. Almost every time out.
