Multi-tasking here, but strong first for Monty. Interesting fact from Cone -- Monty is the only pitcher in the majors with a swing and miss rate of over 20 percent on two different pitches --his curve and his changeup. Glad you mentioned that, I would have missed it just tuning in now. |

The Yanks consistent lack of offense when Montgomery pitches makes me wonder if they should consider dropping him in the post-season rotation. Nearly every time he pitches they don't do squat. They can't, with the way Taillon is slipping, Montgomery is the second best starter on the team. Of course, they have to advance past the wild card game for this to even matter. |

Why is it taking Monty 97 pitches to get 14 outs against this wretched Baltimore lineup? Difficult to be aggressive when you NEVER get any run support. Nibbling becomes a matter of course. |

Not one for overreaction, but Thames can't last as hitting coach after this year. I know he's not the one to fault more over the players, but something ain't working and it's easier to change coaches than personnel.
