I used to hate the dryness of the Phillie broadcasts when I was a boy. Richie Ashburn just droned… Fantastic player, though. Sort of a one of a kind… Did you like Harry Kalas? Seldom heard him, Chi. Nothing against him, I guess. Very colorful local character…

Just get Gleyber off the field. Enough already.

Good ol’ Torres. You can’t hide him…

Looks like the position switch didn't help as Gleyber goofs one and then Urshela drops the throw.

Wow, that hitter for Baltimore didn't even attempt to run on the double play ball.

Wow, that hitter for Baltimore didn't even attempt to run on the double play ball. From what MASN says, he can’t run. That beat up, how can he be the best choice to catch and play? …

Now, after Pipps reply, I guess was teamed with Ashburn. I found the whole broadcast dry. Maybe I was just bored because it was the Phillies…

Inger saw a rainbow when coming home from work and wanted me to post it:
Great pic!

Do you remember Bob Prince with the Pirates? He was as big of a homer as Hawk. The self-styled "Gunner." I was too young to remember Prince but I know he was a legend in Pittsburgh. Bob Prince, Myron Cope and Mike Lange, probably the most popular sports media personalities in the Burgh'. Lange just retired for doing Penguin game last month. As far as I know Prince originated the "bloop and a blast" phrase. He was a bit like Harry Carey -- a smoking, drinking party animal with a distinctive nicotine-ravaged voice. I used to hear him as a kid on KDKA 1020, which could be heard anywhere east of the Rockies. Pie Traynor used to do some pre-game stuff.

The Yankees deliberately hit into double plays, I am convinced.
