Gil optioned after the game. He needs to work on his command but this is reason #101 why the Yankees aren't good at developing prospects at the major league level, they kick these kids to curb at the slightest sign of trouble. He isn't needed in the rotation for awhile with the off days coming up but I would have kept him as a bullpen piece.
This looks like the rotation going forward with days of rest in parenthesis:
Sun., Sept. 19th vs. Cleveland: Gerrit Cole (4) (announced) Mon., Sept. 20th vs. Rangers: Nestor Cortes (4) Tues., Sept. 21st vs. Rangers: Jordan Montgomery (4) Weds., Sept. 22nd vs. Rangers: Kluber (4) Thursday, Sept. 23rd: off Fri., Sept. 24th at Red Sox: Cole (4, skip Gil) Sat., Sept. 25th at Red Sox: Cortes (4) Sun., Sept. 26th at Red Sox: Montgomery (4) Mon., Sept. 27th: off Tues., Sept. 28th at Blue Jays: Kluber (4) Weds., Sept. 29th at Blue Jays: Cole (4) Thurs., Sept. 30th at Blue Jays: Cortes (4) Fri., Oct. 1st vs. Rays: Montgomery (4) Sat., Oct. 2nd vs. Rays: Gil (13, latest the Yankees could push their fifth starter back) Sun., Oct. 3rd vs. Rays: Kluber (4) Mon., Oct. 4th: off (or a Game 163 tiebreaker with Cole on 4 days rest) Tues., Oct. 5th: Wild Card Game (Cole on 5 days rest or Cortes on 4 days rest)
Also, Taillon might be coming back.
That's a heck of a breakdown!

I think that comes under the category of Fair Use, Kaybli.

I think that comes under the category of Fair Use, Kaybli. lol, free publicity and our group is small so I don't think anyone cares. I don't always agree with Axisa, but he puts in the work and it's only 3 bucks a month.

So now the Yankees have 66 losses, while Toronto and Boston each have 65. Oakland has 67 and Seattle 68. It's getting a bit thick.
For the record, I might be a bit scarce in these parts for the next five days or so. We're visiting assorted in-laws in the Finger Lakes so it might be tough to catch all the games. Have to get there before the snow starts.

I mean I'm not seeing much difference between Girardi to Boone both overstep way too much into games, crazy lineups, bizarre losses etc The Phillies fans complaints about Girardi are nearly identical to Yankees fans complaints about Boone, except that he is not regarded so much as a total mouthpiece for the front office. Also, instead of rest, he talks about keeping players "safe," which I guess is pretty much the same thing only ratcheted up a notch. I think it was time for Girardi to go, but hiring a newbie, like Boone to be manger of the New York Yankees was a huge mistake. There were other, more experienced candidates.

It's very pretty, not overdeveloped and lots of picturesque wineries. But the weather is brutal seven or eight months of the year.

Safe travels. I only cruised the Finger Lakes area once, but it was really neat… Thanks Inger. It's very pretty, not overdeveloped and lots of picturesque wineries. But the weather is brutal seven or eight months of the year. Sounds like my kind of weather, minus the humidity and hence a more moderate amount of ice and snow. The area called the Palmer Divide (just a few miles north of a Black Forest) out here that I lived in last time I lived out here was almost perfect. I was surprised after I moved away when I found out the average snowfall was 96” per year. It never seemed like it with most of it falling in the mid fall and spring. It was always gone in a day or two. This desert still gets me down in the summer… if we’re going to experience global warming here (and who knows how that will go in a given area?) I’ll be toast. I’ve also read some reports that predict wetter weather in this area. So far that’s a no…

We’re going Aspen-peeping next weekend…

“They’re both gonna play. Higgy’s obviously earned more playing time here over the last couple of years with his outstanding play and obviously what he brings behind the plate. It’ll be a day-to-day situation and try to play the guy that gives us the best chance to win that night," Aaron Boone said. “I’m here to play every day, and that’s the way I see it," Sanchez said when asked about Boone's comments. "I’m here to help this team, play every day, and decisions like that, I don’t make those decision – they do, and they make the best decision possible. For me, just be ready to play every day.” At one point, it seemed like Sanchez found his old self on offense - in a 27-game stretch from May 29 to June 30, Sanchez slashed .303/.398/.652. In those times, the Yankees were able to live with his bad defense. But since then (43 games), he's hitting .163 with a .599 OPS, and looks more lost than ever behind the plate. Higashioka's five defensive runs saved this year ranks 12th-best among all catchers (despite playing in just over half the innings Sanchez has behind the dish). Sanchez's is negative 10, the second-worst among catchers. sports.yahoo.com/aaron-boone-calls-yankees-catching-235108506.htmlNEGATIVE 10?????????????????

Probably only made him worse.

Probably only made him worse. The problem has little to do with his stance or his knee. It’s more in his head than anywhere else. His reaction times are just too slow for him to be able to help his pitcher out. I recall a test I took in Drivers Education when the class first started. It was designed to test driver reaction time. I was not one of those kids that got to drive on the family farm. I had no experience. My reaction times were the worst in the class, off the charts, unbelievably horrid. Once I gained experience, the test was no challenge for me, and I finished somewhere in the upper third or so of the class. Sanchez has the experience by now. Nothing is going to change him. I can’t say if he’s lazy or not. Only he knows the effort he’s put in, maybe his coaches, too. But he just doesn’t seem to get the message from his brain to his hands and body quickly enough. Maybe if he went someplace where he could DH, and focus only on his bat, he could revive his hitting. I have some doubts. Reaction time seems to be an issue there, too…
