The concentric construction of baseball stadia is completely illogical, yet it’s one of the aspects that make the game interesting. Imagine if the NFL would leave it up to the teams to build their fields as wide or long as they wanted? … If the NBA allowed different t sized courts and the hoops hung at assorted heights? Increased width of soccer goals to the point that a goalie couldn’t possibly cover the entire area? Hockey rinks on mud, concrete, ice? Gotta love it…
