OMG. Kike catches a couple long, but routine fly balls on which he was playing deep, and makes a throw that was strong but off line, and these announcers are talking “Gold Glove caliber” defense for him…
The hyperbole of sports announcing knows no bounds…

Kike catches a couple long, but routine fly balls on which he was playing deep, and makes a throw that was strong but off line, and these announcers are talking “Gold Glove caliber” defense for him… The hyperbole of sports announcing knows no bounds… they are paid to make the game seem exciting |

Very conservative base running, whether we blame Gio or Nevin… the throw was strong, but off line enough that I can’t picture Gio being out… Then, he would have scored easily on the next one. Where had the aggressive base running gone to? … |

It was unlucky where they hit the ball to, that’s all… When you hit below .200 you have one chance in five, less actually to get a hit. Bunting is something NL pitchers can do. One is easier than the other. It is not unlucky you did not get a hit when you bat .188. It is what is likely. |
