You’re discounting any failed bunt attempt, including the ones that wind up being double plays. You’re also discounting the possibility of the two out extra base hits, especially the home runs. Of course we’ve had this conversation about 3,426 times with you, but you pretend not to remember it… and continue to be the only supporter of bunting. The bunt is a weapon with limited use that can have efficacy in select situations. It is not to be used constantly within the context of the way the game has been played for the past 70 or so years… |

Of course Russ you are also discounting the other possibilities of the batter besides his making an out that does not advance the base runner. Sometimes outs advance base runners without a bunt being involved. We just saw that result twice in the ninth inning, leading to a win… a fly ball and a grounder, both on which Wade advanced…

Which describes most of our team. |
