It raises the question of who is our backup first baseman without Voit or DJ. Other than that period when Rizzo was on the Covid IL, Voit didn't contribute all that much. I'd still rather have him -- as you say he could always run into one -- but for most of the past six weeks or so he hasn't done much. Not entirely his fault of course. The Yankees mismanaged his playing time after Rizzo was on board. That's a good question pipps. I guess Sanchez or Higgy would be the backup 1B, so Rizzo is going to play the entire game. That’s what I was thinking Chi, but it seems extremely risky for them to learn the position in the post-season. I don't think Chris Gittens gets another shot. If he's even still with us. I guess we have to hope Rizzo doesn't get dinged.

Yea might be a blessing in disguise to avoid them. Going into a rowdy Fenway is gonna be a tall, tall order that I wanted no part of. I'd have taken a WC game vs. young Toronto squad in high pressure situation than going against Eovaldi and the Boston hitters. We booted home field friday night with Boone's decision making. We should be the more well rested team. So there's that. Boone's machinations paying off.

Still, I think they will gamble that Rizzo stays healthy and just go with him.

I don’t know if Gittens is healthy or not. He only played in 47 games in the MiLB this season, albeit with stunning numbers. 15 HR and an OPS of 1.090…

I see Hicks and Locastro are still alive. Is that Kluber actually smiling back there?

I am glad we made the play offs. I would be happier if we could hit better.

I missed the game yesterday, but just saw Judge's walk off hit and the team running onto the field afterward. Never seen Torres move that fast.

Just read this in the New York Daily News:
“… the Rays have used 15 different starters this season, but other than Tyler Glasnow, their ace who went down for the year with a torn rotator cuff June 14, only four times have any of them been allowed to pitch beyond six innings.”
