To be fair to the 3b coach it was unlikely either of the two guys after Stanton were going to get a hit. So he did not lose much by trying.

He was three for his last 49 in the regular season. He did have that bloop hit in the top of the ninth on Sunday to start the game winning rally. My quick look shows he's 14 for 105 since July. |
