Personally I like Rizzo, he should come back. Great guy in the clubhouse, great defender and a grinder at the plate.

Personally I like Rizzo, he should come back. Great guy in the clubhouse, great defender and a grinder at the plate. Our team is going to be if he does. 32 year old Rizzo, 36 year old Donaldson, 33 year old LeMahieu, 32 year old Stanton, 32 year old Hicks. Then again Freeman is 32 years old too and I want him so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Personally I like Rizzo, he should come back. Great guy in the clubhouse, great defender and a grinder at the plate. He was absolutely beloved in Chicago by Cubs’ fans. He’s a really class act and a selfless player and person with a great sense of humor. We could do much worse. I just want Voit gone so the club can get more athletic on the bench and in the field.

I would rather use LMH at 1b than Rizzo who did not impress me in terms of hitting on the yankees. He wants too much money. Better to write off the year and hope the Yankees are right. But I wish they had taken the many offers for Andujar when they could have. Prospects commonly don't work out. I have seen lots of highly rated yankee prospects vanish within two years - like say Andujar. Rizzo carried the team offensively the first week on the team. He was not the same after returning from contracting COVID, which was scary for a cancer survivor with a compromised immune system. Rizzo hit a home run in the playoff game for the Yankees last season. My problem with Rizzo is his back, which is not getting any better as he ages. Rizzo can also spoil good pitches better than anyone in the Yankees lineup. And, his defense is the best we’ve seen in Pinstripes since Mankievitcz. Tex was pretty good with the leather at first too. I really like Rizzo and won't be suicidal if he's back at first, although I do rank him third after Freeman and Olson among potential first basemen. Voit, yeah, I'm ready to move on. Not much of a place for him if any of the above three are on board. Part-time DH? Not enough roster spots to carry one of those.

Well obviously Freeman isn't returning to Atlanta. I suppose that means the Dodgers for him.

One disadvantage here is that Freeman has a home in a very upscale area of Newport Beach (there really are no downscale areas.) But with enough money you can have homes wherever you want. If he isn't going to the Yankees, I'm sorry to see him leave the Braves.

I thought Rizzo was a free agent. I did not get the sense the Yankees were pursing him.
