Well its better than him signing with the Blue Jays, Red Sox, or Rays. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
He apparently had a better offer but opted to go back home to LA.

Thanks for bringing this one home on the zombie shift, Kaybli. I just missed you, I guess. For the first time ever our dogs awoke after going to bed and needed to go out at about 1:15. I hung out with them for a few minutes after they came back in. Then, since I have a couple appointments an hour and a half away this morning, I set an alarm for 6:15. It’s snowing, so with a 150-170 mile round trip in front of me, I’m postponing. It’s sleeting here already, and the city of Monument lies at 7600 feet. It gets the most snow of anywhere on the front range of the Rockies. 🐓 Chicken? Nope, 🧠 smarter than the younger me. I’ve also learned that slipping and falling at my age is not a good idea…

Unless Yankee fans stop watching YES and spending money on the Yankees the Yankees will continue to be an above average but not elite team under the current ownership. They are unwilling to go after elite players.

An interesting review of a major change in Dodger philosophy. I agree with it, but then I am not spending any money on players. sports.yahoo.com/commentary-angry-dodgers-signing-freddie-120020306.htmlThis is the argument for Cashman to make.. I am impressed that they have an elite farm system despite winning a WS and going after elite free agents. I would have though that would limit how good players you get (which is why I always thought the Yankee system failed to produce much quality).

To quote a late actor Burt Lancaster, "Half of what they say is a lie, the other half can't be true." I don't know whether Hal actually believes that, in which case he is a lousy judge of talent, or he is just lying to appease the fan base. The Yankees did little to significantly improve their basic problems (either offense or pitching) while other teams did. sports.yahoo.com/crosstown-mets-splash-signings-yankees-103503091.html

The Dodgers lose Corey Seager, Max Scherzer, Joe Kelly and possibly Kenley Jansen from last year's squad, yet still have arguably more talent than any other team. Actually, given the talent levels they've had for the past decade -- won their division every year from 2013 through 2020 and finished second last year with 106 victories -- it seems as if they should have more than one ring, and that in the shortened 2020 season. Considering the hand they've been holding, they've probably underperformed.

www.mlb.com/news/yankees-ben-rortvedt-has-huge-muscles"That's 24-year-old catcher Ben Rortvedt. He was rated the best defensive catcher in the Twins' system last season, he's an exceptional framer and some scouts believe he may eventually have 20-HR power. And yes, as you could probably see from outer space, he is exceedingly yoked. His powerful, lefty swing could fit in perfectly at Yankee Stadium as he develops, or, like his first MLB homer, he can always crank one 417 feet the other way."
