I dunno, it seems as if Boston would be all over this if it were real. Unless they're cheating too, but not as successfully. I think the Astros were whistling on tipped pitches, maybe without the aid of technology. And I thought any sound alert from the dugout was now prohibited anyway.

From the NY Post:
“In Game 3, the Braves were winning, 5-2, and Tyler Matzek had pitched the seventh, allowing no hits and striking out two. Leave it alone. You can’t improve on perfect, right?
But the analytics gremlin jumped into Snitker’s head. He yanked Matzek for Luke Jackson. In one-third of an inning Jackson allowed four earned runs, turning the Braves into 6-5 losers.
The 8 ¹/₂-inning game included 14 pitchers and ran 4:15 — enough senselessness to have once caused a national calamity. But the sense-defying abnormal has become the normal. And they’d all do it again … and again … and again.”
I suggest we christen these types of unnecessary pitching changes in deference to Aaron Boone. Something like a “Boonie” or “Boonedoggle” or “Booneshed moment” or “Boone-Scratcher” on “Boone-headed”

Something like a “Boonie” or “Boonedoggle” or “Booneshed moment” or “Boone-Scratcher” on “Boone-headed” It seems obvious to everyone except the people who run the game. The geeks are entrenched, and it would take an army of Sparky Andersons to dislodge them. That is insanely long for a nine inning game. I can't even sit for Yankee games that long. I still haven't figured out how young kids can watch the most important games of the year. Are seven-year-olds staying up until 1 AM on school nights these days? Or for that matter working adults. I realize it's been going on for decades now, so maybe it's not a big deal. Maybe people are just acclimated to reading about it next morning. I like "Boonedoggle" myself. It isn't whether you win or lose, it's how many pitching changes you make that counts.

SHIT, are these games getting long, the other night watching one of the games had to leave for a while during first inning--came back 2.5 hours later bottom of 4TH Inning.
The future of this game is in the hands of our Youth as for Fans & Revenue = In 2018 or 2019 research show that only 8% of kids under 14-years would watch, go to games, etc. The reason to long & boring.

Yep. And I suspect we'll be seeing him catch that again next year. I say no. I think he comes to spring training and retires before the official start of the season. Ch-ch-changes…
