This says it all right there, why on earth are the Yanks preoccupied with what others are doing. Sure you've got your scouting and such on other teams, especially rivals. But if the Yanks just did what the Yanks are capable of doing, which is using their financial advantages, they'd probably have a ring during the last 4-5 years. Instead while they've got to the doorstep of the world series in 2017 and 2019, they've also willingly regressed the team roster wise in order to dance the luxury tax line at several key moments when deciding to add talent. It has bitten em. They're not as good developmentally as TB and BOS, those two have been doing it for 10-15 years now, they've got the requisite patience to take dips, the Yanks do not.

What annoys me is the Yankees had the power to take care of the Red Sox. If they win one more game in the last two weeks whether its one of the Cleveland games, the one game in Toronto they didn't win that was 5-5 late, the Rays game on Friday they brought Abreu in for, one of the Anaheim games etc that game is in Yankee Stadium and they might just win. Instead they let those games get away and let the Red Sox who choked 2 games away to the Orioles back in control.
The Rays once again good enough to ruin your postseason plans, but once they get there they fall apart in the first round again. Their process works in a shorter season as we saw last year, but the longer the season goes on it never seems to work in the playoffs. Thats why I don't buy oh the Yankees would have gotten swept in the ALDS by the Rays they played a lot of close games with them this year and I feel like the Yankees would have had a chance.

I'm going with the Giants, since the Dodgers have had enough success in recent times, let someone else have some glory!
