A disappointment, but McBroom wanted a long holiday weekend, so what could we do? …

Yep, still the Yanks split a 4 game series at place that has been difficult for them to play in. The Rays pick no ground during their biggest series of the season. Excellent point, CHI. lol, trying to stay optimistic, but 3 out of 4 would have been great.

lol, trying to stay optimistic, but 3 out of 4 would have been great. 6.5 ahead instead of 4.5 ahead would have been nice. Especially with this tough stretch coming up.

I have not been paying attention, falling asleep in the last several games - not a bad thing when we aren't clicking on all cylinders but still. Who is coming up on the schedule?

I read there's a tough stretch coming up somewhere but looking at the schedule its not too bad:

I have not been paying attention, falling asleep in the last several games - not a bad thing when we aren't clicking on all cylinders but still. Who is coming up on the schedule? Are you OK? Long hours on your new job? Yes, I worked until 3:00 AM on Thursday, then couldn't get to sleep for more than an hour or so before going to work on Friday. And, I am getting discouraged by the slow action above me. Lots of demands for information that they then sit on without making decisions, which I need made to hire the right people or to move on to the next assignment. Many promises that were made earlier are looking about as close to fruition as Hicks with runners in scoring position. Now, they are distracted by the shooting in Uvalde - a tragedy, but no where close to Dallas. If we were on the East coast, it might be two states away. Administrators' and politicians' responses to these types of events are always predictable and inevitably and impressively wrong.

We need to do something to change this.

Thanks, Kay. I was just too damnably lazy to check. On a positive note, my old boss from California was visiting family in Texas and we had lunch yesterday for three hours at Sake Bomb. It was wonderful to catch up. Brought back some wonderful memories. Then, I got home and two other old friends from California called and that was three more hours of conversation and catching up. They ran into each other at an Italian restaurant in Clovis, California, that Sarah and I used to frequent that had a wonderful eggplant dish with marinera that was a favorite of mine - twice as good the next day for leftovers. My name came up, and they both called the next day back to back - unbeknownst to each. Lots of laughter and reminisce. Like George Bailey should have said, "I really had a wonderful life."

Great to hear Rizz! Nothing beats good food and catching up with old friends!
