Yes, I worked until 3:00 AM on Thursday, then couldn't get to sleep for more than an hour or so before going to work on Friday. And, I am getting discouraged by the slow action above me. Lots of demands for information that they then sit on without making decisions, which I need made to hire the right people or to move on to the next assignment. Many promises that were made earlier are looking about as close to fruition as Hicks with runners in scoring position. Now, they are distracted by the shooting in Uvalde - a tragedy, but no where close to Dallas. If we were on the East coast, it might be two states away. Administrators' and politicians' responses to these types of events are always predictable and inevitably and impressively wrong. It' heartbreaking and happening way too frequently. We need to do something to change this. I'm usually an optimist, but I do not see anything changing. Cicero taught us that the more laws a society has the less justice there shall be. As a result, we spend more time shuffling paper than actually interacting with human beings - I am speaking of social institutions, like schools, hospitals, and service facilities. There is always money for building new office space and graft, while homeless people beg at the corner of busy thoroughfares, nearly getting killed by distracted people texting on their cell phones, while their entire day is ruined by a slow traffic light as they sip from a Starbucks' cup full of sugar that cost them eight bucks and twenty minutes sitting in the drive through line to get. Forgotten ideals and advertising is now the cornerstone of this republic.

Forgotten ideals and advertising is now the cornerstone of this republic. Most certainly true. If they take away guns, there will be plenty of guns left in criminal hands. Even if they COULD take away all the guns, society woukd find another way to murder. In Caesar’s time it was poison, Cain killed Abel with a rock. Airplanes into buildings. Truckloads of fertilizer. Pipe bombs, fire. If people want to commit mass murder, they will find a way…

You were right to speak up and did so in an appropriate manner…
