What should have been a strike out turns into a weakly hit single.

Oh yeah, it's all just a matter of slight degrees. I root for anyone wearing the Pinstripes, although in a small number of cases (A-Rod) it felt a little forced. I could not do it, even in his MVP season of 2007. Stockholm syndrome never overtook me, and neither sadism nor masochism ever appealed to me. A-Rod was poison, rather than an acquired taste. I hear you and agree with the sentiment. However, if the Yankees were in a tie game in the bottom of the ninth and A-Rod hit a home run to win it, even though he's the last guy on the team I would want to see do it, I'd still be glad the Yankees won. But I couldn't stand him and was angry even when they first traded for him. Boone's first stupid move as a Yankee paved the way.

I had to investigate, and another player who turned 75 today is Don Money, a pretty fair third baseman for a long time with the Phillies, Pirates and Brewers. Amazingly he's still in the game as a player development official with Milwaukee. Great glove man. Loved his name growing up. Definitely the first member of the All-Economy team with Norm Cash, Ernie Banks, and Chris Sale. Brad Penny and Kid Nichols also on the hill.

I heard Minaya was coming in and I thought when did the Twins acquire Sean Manaea and why is he pitching out of the bullpen? Har-har… Don't har-har me, ingerson!

He didn’t have enough bat to excite people, so he didn’t get credit for how good he was with the glove. Very sure-handed… In the late 60s the Pirates had both Dave Cash and Don Money in their system. They were loaded. An embarassnent of riches.

A lot of two strike hits given up by Taillon.

7 hits for the Twins already.
Buxton up with two on.

So, acknowledgements for any game winning dingers. I just could not like him - he really has a odd quality to him. Yep, pick up basketball and we lose a thirty-thirty man at second base in Soriano, who was unequivocally likable.

Nice curve to limit the damage by Taillon!

I used to have those two in my head when my Yankee buddy Joe was alive. We would riff on things like this routinely.

Brad Penny and Kid Nichols also on the hill. Lets not forget to diversify with Bobby Bonds. In the 60s the Orioles had a reliever named Wes Stock.
