Trivia: Josh Donaldson is one of 1 of 6 third baseman to win AL MVP since 1960. Who are the other five? I just realized that the question is AL, so that obviously eliminates my Schmidt answer. Miggy perhaps? Brett & Arod

This team is in meltdown mode. I am beginning to think there was a incident that caused dissension in the club house somewhere along the way. Its all of them not just a couple of guys. I think there has been something as well. The Montgomery trade stands out as particularly odd. Then, we had the “Joey” thing, and we still have the “Hicks” thing. We’ve had a couple of odd incidents with Donaldson, like the “Jackie Robinson” thing. We’ve had Cole and Taillon met downs, bull pen melt downs, slumps all kinds of distractions. Tempers flare when things sour a little and the cohesiveness will find cracks…

You can see Monte's strike out stuff but he certainly needs more consistency. Hope we're not calling him Sonny Montas by the end of the year. The writing was on the wall with the splits.

This team is in meltdown mode. I am beginning to think there was a incident that caused dissension in the club house somewhere along the way. Its all of them not just a couple of guys. My dearly departed Yankee buddy Joe and I had one specific disagreement: the existence of momentum. Joe did not believe there was such a thing, only execution. I believed that confidence played a large part in performance and that the presence or absence of that feeling could rub off on teammates, both positively and negatively.

DJ ruined a possible double play, or Abreu may have been out of the inning.

Hope we're not calling him Sonny Montas by the end of the year. The writing was on the wall with the splits. He shouldn't be this bad, regardless where he's pitching.

The writing was on the wall with the splits. He shouldn't be this bad, regardless where he's pitching. You're right. But you gotta figure pitching in Oakland he got 1-3 outs per game on foul balls that he doesn't get elsewhere.

Hope we're not calling him Sonny Montas by the end of the year. Great song. Summer of 1966. Bobby Hebb was a tremendous live performer. I remember him bringing the house down on "The Tonight Show" in front of a very impressed Johnny Carson.
