The AL record is six. NL is seven. Yankees are one away from tying the record! The crowd came to see a record. The Yankees are delivering… 🤭

I need Judge to do this tonight. I watched yesterday's game from my brother in law's home office, and tonight from my niece's family room in Canandaigua. Tomorrow we're out all day, first on a boat and then at some wineries in the afternoon. I'm scrambling to find a hotel bar where I can drop in during the first game while alienating family members. First world problem for sure. There's a song title right there!

Then we move in officially on Saturday. There is no telling if I’ll see the post season or not at this point… poor timing, but I’m so relieved we made the sale and are accomplishing this that it truly doesn’t matter…

Detroit has actually been declining. I think they ran out of ammo. Detroit has actually marginally improved over the past 20 or so years, although admittedly they had almost nowhere to go but up. My friend Joe went to Coamerica Park for a series probably around the mid-2000s or so. He loved the park and raved about some of the restaurants in Detroit. Yep. The Greektown area has some nice restaurants and other neighborhoods have slowly returned to life. In its heyday Detroit was a great city, and still shows remnants of that. The problem is the bad parts are really bad. I have a soft spot for Detroit. It's worth visiting just for the Motown Studio, which I've been to four times because I'm not quite right. Great memories of Tiger Stadium and The Olympia and Joe Louis Arena. Detroit has some of the nicest suburbs in America.

Why do they even bother to check the pitchers for foreign substances any more? They sort of give the fingers a glance AFTER the inning. If it’s a reliever and he’s completed his inning, what are they going to do if they find something? Throw him out of the game he’s already leaving? Fine him, I suppose. Suspend him, perhaps. But the damage will have already been done…

And, likely, just kicked Peraza off the post-season roster. Boone likes veterans who've been there before.
