That reminds me of Masahiro Tanaka's split-finger before the UCL tear. If he is able to adjust to the larger baseball and the lack of tackiness out of the box, he will be a bargain. Kudos to the Mets. Mets fans were always at the head of the pack whining about the Yankees trying to buy a pennant. So far I haven't heard any complaints about Steve Cohen. In fact, in the years since the Yankees ceased having the largest payroll, I haven't noticed the national sports media harping on the issue. I have no problem with what Cohen is doing, just as I had no problem with The Boss throwing money around. We should at least be consistent.

Even Boston stopped crowing about "best team money can buy," when they began getting in the upper echelon of spenders. I tip my cap to Cohen; he wants a World Series for Mets' fans. It doesn't bother me at all. What does is if George were alive, he'd want to match Cohen, signing by signing. I miss that big team vibe from a big market team, especially with a cross-town rival.

We should at least be consistent. i think the bigger problem now are the teams that don't spend at all. The Pittsburgh's, Cincinnati's and Oakland's of the league who all get an equal share of the national TV, radio and internet streaming revenue and do nothing to improve their squads. With the way the revenue is flowing, we need a salary floor more than ever.

Bobby wax a big farm kid in HS. You would expected him to be tough and sting from the farm, but he was a huge puss. Like when the volleyball was served to him he’d kind of fold up in a protective pose like it might hurt him… He sometimes wanted to umpire softball instead of playing, and would make atrocious calls, due to his lack of understanding of the rules, or sometimes because of his fear of one of the players involved in a play…

I doubt if many geek techie billionaires were top athletes. One thing I liked about The Boss is that like his own father he was a first-rate collegiate hurdler. He even played in the backfield for his varsity football team. Granted that playing for the Williams Ephmen was not like strapping it up for the Crimson Tide, but at least he was out there. And his MA from Ohio State was in Phys Ed.

I heard a rumor that the Yankees are talking to the Padres about Tatis. Anyone else heard this rumor?

I’d rather pass. When a player has been using PEDS you don’t know if they’re dumb enough to continue to sneak around with them or not. And then you don’t really know what their talent level really is without them. Look at how Ryan Braun’s production changed after he got caught…
