For the first time since roughly the Christy Mathewson era under John McGraw, the Yankees are the poor relative among New York baseball teams. Shame. Shame on the Yankees… It is NOT how much money you spend...instead it is how you spend the money and who you spend it on.

Butin comparison, we know the Yanks are making as much or more money than the Mets, Dodgers, and other big spending teams. Therefore, the excuses over “bad contracts” run thin because those bad contracts aren’t all that significant in the long run. The Dodgers, the Mets, the Giants, the Phillies, and Padres are spending money. The Blue Jays are spending money. If the Yankees continue to pretend they’re poor if will become a self-fulfilling prophesy as they will fail to compete, lose fans and become exactly what they pretend to be… Poor…

I firmly believe with the right factors in place (A PLAN, GM, Manager, Coaches, Training, etc. etc. etc.) and using your Top Prospects along with selective AFFORDABLE Free Agents that a Team can go to the WS for less than $180M a year and in fact maybe less than $150M, maybe even less...
Time will tell...

I wonder what the Giants saw in Correa's physical that made them change their minds? probably the same thing the Astros saw or knew about Rosenthal lays out that Correa suffered a season-ending leg injury in the minor leagues in 2014 but he has not been on the injured list for a lower leg injury since his promotion to the majors. He’s also had back issues in the past but his last IL stint for a back injury was in 2019.

With the luxury tax, Cohen has a payroll of almost 500 million dollars. It has to be fun to be a Mets' fan right now. Even I might tune in to watch a game or two...okay, only if there is no Yankee game that day. Still.

Unfortunately, the top 20 free agents are gone. All that would remain are trades.

Giants fans must really hate ownership right now almost having Judge and Correa and instead you get Mitch Hangier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I wonder what the Giants saw in Correa's physical that made them change their minds? It was just under the skin, not in the muscle, and shaped like a door buzzer.

Yankees are not a good fit for Pittsburg to trade for Reynolds. They already have a very good 6'7" SS, unless they are going to include him in the trade which I doubt.

Cashman just now on potentially making a trade “Got a text from a GM this morning and it looks real. We’re still talking but I expect the trade market to heat up in the coming days.”

Cashman just now on potentially making a trade “Got a text from a GM this morning and it looks real. We’re still talking but I expect the trade market to heat up in the coming days.”
Cashman after the trade: “We feel - and our stats department backs this up - that Odor can give us what we need from the left side while playing a representative left field. I’ve spoken to Rougned, and he is extremely excited about being back in Pinstripes and up for the challenge of the position. With the competitive nature of this year’s market and the value of current free agents available and trade partners - or realistic trade partners - this deal made the most sense for the Yankees moving forward and we believe makes us a better ball club both on the field and in the clubhouse.”
