Cashman just now on potentially making a trade “Got a text from a GM this morning and it looks real. We’re still talking but I expect the trade market to heat up in the coming days.”
Cashman after the trade: “We feel - and our stats department backs this up - that Odor can give us what we need from the left side while playing a representative left field. I’ve spoken to Rougned, and he is extremely excited about being back in Pinstripes and up for the challenge of the position. With the competitive nature of this year’s market and the value of current free agents available and trade partners - or realistic trade partners - this deal made the most sense for the Yankees moving forward and we believe makes us a better ball club both on the field and in the clubhouse.” Is German part of the talks since his number was just taken lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Since his domestic travail, Domingo needs the Yankees more than they need him.

They can have Montas, Schmidt, Wells, and a couple lower level top prospects. Volpe is a no-go for me.

Montros, Garcia, Schmidt, and Hicks plus cash throw in Melky, IPK, and Igawa.

We have a LF in Caberra that will do the same job as Reynolds, of not better.

I agree they shouldn't empty the farm for Reynolds but I think calling Cabrera better than Reynolds is stretching just a bit. Obviously we haven't seen a whole season of Cabrera yet but while he has had some highs he also had some big lows with his couple misplays in the playoffs in lf and some long stretches of not hitting for multiple games. Reynolds has 2 300 seasons over 4 seasons and is def the contact type the Yankees need. I do want Cabrera on the team but I think he might be more beneficial as a super sub than everyday lf. Plus obv the Yankees know more than us and Cashman is pushing for Hicks to be playing there which makes me think they don't want to put Cabrera there if they are even considering starting hicks. This is Reynolds' average line for his career: .281/.361/.481/.842. If Cabrera can duplicate that production, the Yankees would not be looking for another outfielder and would have DFA'd Hicks and picked up Matt Carpenter again for a bat off the bench.

Another Cubs signing. The Cubs rotation is Taillon, Stroman, Hendricks and Smyly. I hope that Wesneski, who they stole from Cashman gets the 5th spot, although there's competition from 2 or 3 other pitchers.
