Yep. This is an important start for him. The timing is right -- stopping a team that seems to become increasingly obnoxious -- in the long haul I think these guys are more of a threat than Tampa Bay. Although that 18-3 start is the best since the 2003 Yankees. Schmidt is capable. Something like 6 IP and two runs would work. That start is nothing that losing 15 out of 17 won’t fix… They've had a ton of injuries, especially pitching injuries, pretty much like the Yankees. Tyler Glasnow, Shane Baz and Jeffrey Springs for starters, plus a lot of bullpen guys. But no team is as good as they've been playing lately, and they've had a very favorable schedule so far.

Schmidt has been killed by lefty batters, and fortunately Jays have only two in their lineup today. That line up is no joke. If you buy the proposition that Judge and Guerrero cancel each other out - it can be argued that Toronto is better at just about every position than the Yankees.

Thank you Kaybli. And I hope it's not too late to wish you Eid Mubarak! I haven't been on here the past few days. Thank you so much pipps! The celebrations lasted all weekend, going to peoples houses and eating good food, so you’re not late at all! 😀 I missed the last two games celebrating but I should be here for this one. Is today the third day of celebration or was that yesterday?

Gausman is a mediocre 8-7 versus the Yanks in his career, albeit with a more than respectable 3.49 ERA. It’s an odd match up in a way because a good portion of his numbers vs. the Yanks when Gausman was with Baltimore and didn’t have established track record he has now. I don’t think he’s going to do us many favors, so I hope Schmidt is up the the task… Disappointing because he's an LSU boy.

Gausman strikes out the side. Egad! Inauspicious beginning.

Michael Kay should never again utter the phrase, "He don't play that." You're a professional broadcaster for the New York Yankees and a Fordham graduate.
