Mickey Mantle was not just incredibly strong, but he was also incredibly fast. In 1958, The Mick hit an inside the park home run on May 9, 1958, another on May 20, 1958, and a third on June 5, 1958. Not one Yankee player since Mantle, has hit three inside the park home runs in the same season! … I had to look up what stadiums he hit the inside the park homers. The first was at Yankee Stadium against the Senators. The second was at Comiskey Park against the Pale Hose. The third was also against White Sox, but at home. Lots of real estate in those parks, but he was super fast.

Radbourn, who will finish 488 of the 502 games he started, will end his 11-year career this season with 309 victories. You have to love it when Old Hoss makes an appearance on this forum.

There have been 152 pitching staffs that have allowed 200 HR in a single season. The Yankees have only allowed that many twice, in 2016 and 2019…

April 26, 1948. Lou Boudreau hits 2 doubles and two triples in the same game.
He’s on his way to an MVP that season, the last time that anyone drove in 100 runs (106) with less than 10 strike outs (9)…

On May 24, 1929Heinie Manush hit 2 doubles and 2 triples in the same game. Then he repeated the feat July, 23, 1932.
He compiled seven five-hit games and fifty-two four-hit games in his seventeen-year major league career.
He had a hitting steak of 33 G in 1933, the longest ever for the old Washington Senators franchise.
Heinie’s (much) older brother Frank had a cup of coffee with the A’s in 1908.
The year he won the AL batting title with a .378avg., 1926, Babe Ruth was second with .373.
I suppose if you didn’t know these things about Manush, you could call this “Appreciate Your Heinie Day.”

Carl Crawford hit 2 doubles and 2 triples in one game on May 2, 2005.
He had incredible speed when he first became a MLB player, but his game went downhill during what are the prime years for most players.
Crawford was the first man to steal 3 bases on consecutive days this century. On 16- & 17-Aug-2006, Crawford was 3 for 3 each day. Greg Zaun was TOR’s C on the 16th, Benjie Molina in the 17th. Pitchers varied.
At Jefferson Davis High School in Houston, Texas, he was a letterman in football & basketball as well as in baseball.
Crawford is the only player so far this century to steal 4 and score 5 times in one game. On 24-Jun-2006, vs. TOR, Crawford stole 4 bases and scored 5 X…

Unless the Veteran's committee reviews his record, he is left out, there's not Ted Williams type player around to push for him, like Ted did for the "Scooter."
