I love the stat, but who even thinks to look that up? They just mentioned that only Mickey and Melky have been younger while hitting a grand slam for the Yankees. So now I have to wonder if either of them hit their GS left handed? The potential is that Volpe “might” be the youngest to hit one right-handed. So I guess there’s your answer. If I were in that field, I would look that kind of stuff up… Mantle's grand slam came almost exactly 72 years ago -- May 16, 1951 -- against Cleveland lefty Dick Rozek, so I assume Mick was batting righty.

Deivi looks decent. His hair is better than in his previous incarnation, too. The last time he was up it looked like a duck’s 🦆 ass sticking up out of the back of his cap…

See, you look that kind of stuff up, too. I was going to wait until after the game…But thank you! …

Holy… 72 years? I missed 99%, but even the 1% I saw was incredible…

Nice job by Deivi. He saved some arms for Tampa Bay. I assume he has options? If not, he’s a DFA at this point…

Trying to figure out who the eleven Yankee rookies were with a grand slam. They spotted us Mickey, Melky and Volpe. I remember both Judge and Shane Spencer doing it, and I know from reading that Gil McDougald did it in the 1951 World Series. Because he hit so many slams, I assumed Lou Gehrig did it and in fact he did. I looked up Joe D but he didn't. That's all I've got and I have to get back to life now. Anyway there's seven.
Inger, if you have any files in a big Manila envelope in the crawlspace behind the root cellar, maybe you have the missing four.
