You take the catcher that has been performing the poorest, and you include him in a trade. Then you promote a different catcher. Given the need for offense and a lefty stick, you choose between Wells, Rortvedt, and Naervez<sp?>… picking one is not my job. I like Rortvedt, but I wouldn’t be upset if one of the other two got his chance… |

The Yankees could have signed Bellinger in the offseason. Now they’ll probably trade prospects for a player whom they had no interest in the off season.

No. We don’t need him that badly. I’m not even certain he’s a good fit here. Having the best players doesn’t always make the best team, especially if one or more of those players will hamstring you financially where the supporting players are as bad ax they are now. Judge, Ohtani, and a bunch of misfits doesn’t appeal to me, and it won’t make us winners any more than Trout, Ohtani and a bunch of misfits had made the Angels a winner… |
