No. We don’t need him that badly. I’m not even certain he’s a good fit here. Having the best players doesn’t always make the best team, especially if one or more of those players will hamstring you financially where the supporting players are as bad ax they are now. Judge, Ohtani, and a bunch of misfits doesn’t appeal to me, and it won’t make us winners any more than Trout, Ohtani and a bunch of misfits had made the Angels a winner… No, I wouldn't give all that up for a two months of a player who will then become a free agent and command the largest contract on the sport's history. But, I would go after him in free agency. His left handed power bat hitting back to back with Judge would be to tempting to turn down.

Carlson is a switch hitter with a .345 OBP, maybe a change in venue would help him out?

I would take Arenado, Carlson and Monty in a heartbeat. IDK about this.... Pereira and others for Carlson..just call up Pereira if that's the case

Carlson is a switch hitter with a .345 OBP, maybe a change in venue would help him out? CF capable with good hands and range. Does he have an arm? He did hit 26 HR in MiLB in 2019… young enough… not expected to be an impact hitter though…

Bader is FA after the year, so Carlson could help with the future plans/depth. Additionally, apparently STL not in love with Wilson Contreras as their catcher - Yanks rumored to be wanting to upgrade at catcher, I wonder if there's a match there. Contreras is in 1st year of 5/87 mill deal, so wonder what's up and why it turned so sour so quickly.

Dylan Carlson in action. We've seen this before! Except Judge caught the ball.

www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/07/the-opener-oneill-giants-rays-rangers.html If you all remember my preseason bet post you will see I picked Texas as my Dark Horse... The Opener: O’Neill, Giants, Rays, Rangers ...3. Rays vs Rangers: Two of the AL’s top teams are in the midst of a key series, as the Rays (60-37) and Rangers (56-39) partake in a three game set at Globe Life Field. The Rangers won the series opener 3-2 last night, a win that put them 3.5 games ahead of the second-place Astros for the AL West crown. By contrast, the Rays’ loss last night leaves the Orioles nipping at their heels, just one game behind Tampa in an extremely competitive AL East division. Tonight’s game is set to begin at 7:05pm CT. Right-handed youngster Taj Bradley is set to take the mound for the Rays at 7:05pm CT tonight against veteran hurler and former Ray Nathan Eovaldi, who has emerged as the ace of Texas’ pitching staff following the loss of Jacob deGrom to Tommy John surgery earlier this season with a 2.38 ERA in 117 2/3 innings of work. On the other hand, Bradley has had an up-and-down rookie campaign. The youngster sports an ugly 5.43 ERA in 61 1/3 innings despite a much stronger 3.99 FIP thanks in part to brutal results in his last three starts, where he’s allowed 16 earned runs while managing just 12 1/3 innings. Plus, he hasn’t hit well enough to overcome those short comings. I’d just as soon give Naervez or Rortvedt a look. Deal Trevino away to make room…
